Your bed partner may notice that something is wrong with during your sleep. For example, you may sleep with your mouth open and you may be restless while sleeping. If snoring interferes with your or your bed partner's sleep, either or both of you may feel exhausted during the day.

If you temporarily stop breathing during the night, you may have sleep apnea, a serious condition.

Snore creates a vibrating, rattling, noisy sound while breathing during sleep. Obstructive sleep apnea is an extreme form of snoring. A person affects with OSA stop breathing for a brief period during sleep. It occurs because of the closed your upper airway.

Symptoms of Snoring

- Loud, fluttery sound during sleep. As a rule, it is noticed by your roommates or bed partner. But sometimes loud snoring may awake the sleeper.

- Dry mouth. It is caused by sleeping with open mouth.

- Sore throat. It is caused by sleeping with open mouth and the tension of snoring.

- Morning grogginess and sometimes daytime sleepiness. These are caused by disturbed sleep because of loud snoring.

- Morning headache. It is caused by insufficient intake of oxygen.      

You Should Call Your Doctor if:

- You live with a person who snores and begin to notice that he or she snores very loud with intervals of no breathing at all. This person may be affected with OSA; it is very serious respiratory condition.

- It often happens that you feel very sleepy and tired during the day.

- You frequently fall asleep in inappropriate places, such as at the office or while eating or even driving.
